It has been asked many times by people wanting to start out with creating paint effects on their casts and models, ‘What is dry brushing?’. In this video we show a fundamental approach to dry brushing and a good basis to start from using acyric paints on a plaster casted pine cone.
We compare the dry brushing technique with a paint wash on two concrete casted plaques with Celtic designs. [00:00] Intro. Acrylic Paint Mixing & Dry Brushing Techniques.
A video showing basic mixing of acrylic paints and dry brushing effects. Sorry for the angle of the video camera, but I hope there is some benefit in the video for some folk starting out with mixing colours and painting concrete items with acrylic paint. I will post up more detailed videos which feature paint mixing and brushing techniques in the future.
